Data management plans (DMPs) are tools for helping you organize and manage your research data throughout the life of a project. Data management plans increase the availability and accessibility of your research and allow funding agencies and other researchers to easily review your data collection, storage, and analysis methods. They also organize and manage data for high reproducibility.
The National Institute of Health (NIH) and other grant funding institutions now require researchers to address reproducibility in a structured way before reviewing their applications. They may also have a policy that requires the submission of a data management plan. UCSF has resources available to help you create a data management plan.
